I am in my 6th year of teaching at Pinebrook. I taught 5 years in 3rd grade, then took last year off to take care of my son who had some minor health issues. After working part time for a year to ensure he was healthy again, I am excited to return to Pinebrook to begin a new chapter in my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher!

I grew up in Gainesville, Florida, where I attended the University of Florida and received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education. I am a HUGE Gator fan and follow all their sports. I was lucky enough to be a student at UF when they won back to back football and basketball championships. Needless to say having a sports team win a national championship every year I attended school made for a very exciting college experience!

While at UF, I met my husband Nick through mutual friends. After a couple of years of dating, we got married in December 2009 and then moved up to Virginia for his job shortly after. While I will always be a Florida girl at heart, I have enjoyed the four seasons of Virginia and the ability to travel more in the northeast of the United States!
In 2016, we welcomed our son Jake into the world. I never knew we were missing something in our life until he was born. Being a mom has given me a whole new perspective as a teacher!
